Assets Custodies
Who currently holds an item. Each row is the pair (item, user) with a quantity.
Quantities track bulk products (e.g. a technician carrying 12 connectors); for serialized items the quantity is always 1. A custody is created when an item is checked out to a user and destroyed automatically when its quantity drops to zero — there is no "empty custody" state.
Use this to answer "who has what right now?". For the historical movement (who used to hold an item, when it was transferred), see Transactions.
